NESTOR BOLUM (Nigerian) VERSUS SIAKANE BOXING FIGHT ATTRACTS $2,000 GATE FEE TO WATCH!!

Nestor Bolum
Boxing fans in Sydney, Australia, will pay as much as $2000 (about N900,000) to watch former Nigeria’s Bantamweight 54kg boxer, Nestor Bolum, who will stage a return to the ring on Friday, November 11, against Apichet Siakane of Thailand. The fight will hold at Club Punchbowl in Sydney Australia.
Bolum, one of Nigeria’s last men standing at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, has not taken part in active boxing since January 2011, though he had one warm-up match in August this year.
According to organizers of the fight, regular ticket for the bout is $60, while VIP ticket is $2000.
Bolum, a former Nigerian Air Force officer, who hails from Ughelli, Delta State, said yesterday that he had been training seriously towards the fight, assuring that he will teach his opponent, Apichet Siakane of Thailand, a bitter lesion on Friday, November 11.
At the Athens 2004 Olympics, Bolum was among seven boxers who flew Nigeria’s flag. While five of them lost out in their first matches, Bolum and Muideen Ganiyu made it to the quarterfinals.
After beating his opponents from Gabon, Ngnitedem, in the round of 32, and edging out India’s Prasad in the round of 16, Bolum was denied a place in the medal zone by Worapoj Petchkoom of Thailand.
Now, the Nigerian sees Friday’s fight against Apichet Siakane as a golden opportunity to pay the people of Thailand back in their own coin.
“As far as I am concerned, Apichet Siakane will pay for the sin his brother committed far back 2004 in Athens. I will punish him inside the ring and I will knock him down by God’s grace,” he stated.
Bolum took his professional boxing career to Canada some years ago before relocating to Sydney, Australia.
While Bolum has not tested action since 2011, his opponent from Thailand has had over 60 Mai Thai boxing fights.
According to Bolum, who has moved up to 60kg, the fight is being packaged by Nick of AMS Scaffolding, Sydney, under Neutral Corner Fights Promotion. “The Promoter, Mr. Paul Nasari, is a former boxer and he has so much confidence in me. I have been training hard under Mark Gresch of Jabout Boxing gymnasium here in Sydney,” he stated.

ILLUMINATED CROSS APPEARS IN FRONT OF CENTRAL MOSQUE IN NASSARAWA STATE THAT ATTRACT CONVERGENCE OF WITNESSES!

Crucifix
RESIDENTS of the Assakio Development Area of the Nasarawa State capital Lafia were thrown into turmoil yesterday following the sudden appearance of a strange cross five feet away from the community's central mosque.

This mysterious sighting attracted a mammoth crowd from Assakio and its environs with many praying for forgiveness and blessings. Apparently, the illuminated cross was projected on to the ground, with a 15 year old Hajara Hussaini, saying that she first sighted the sign of a cross at about 8pm on Wednesday.

Ms Hussaini, who said she had been sent on an errand by her parents, explained that when she saw a strange light, she was gripped by fear and rushed back home to alert her mother.  Her mother, Matan, said she had sent her daughter to visit her grandmother and her daughter saw the crucifix while returning from the errand.

Alhaji Muhammed Iliyasu, the chief imam of Assakio Central Mosque, who confirmed the incident, said that the appearance of the cross within the premises of the mosque was a revelation from God, affirming that Jesus is also a prophet of God. Also confirming the incident, Reverend Micheal Dogo of the Evangelical Reform Church of Christ, Assakio, described the appearance of the cross as a sign of reconciliation in the community.

Local resident, Jonathan Amegwa, said he was overwhelmed by the appearance of the cross in the mosque. Eyewitness Grace Eze, who resides in the Ashige area of the community, added that she got healed after visiting the scene of the cross.

She said: “I underwent a surgery about two years ago after which I started to experience a movement in my body. But after praying before the cross, I got healed.”

TB Joshua added that the next US President would face an uphill task in passing bills.

Joshua said, “Ten days ago, I saw the new President of America with a narrow win. The new President will be facing several challenges over many issues, including: passing bills, attempts to possibly pass a vote of no confidence on the new President. The boat of the new President will be rocked.

“By the way, in order not to keep you in suspense, what I frankly saw is a woman.”

IYANYA NOW JOINS MAVIN RECORDS; DON JAZZY AND CREW!!

Don Jazzy & Iyanya
Yes! It has been official, Kukere singer, Iyanya Mbuk is now a Mavin Records act. The Your Waist master in a shock unexpected move, inked a deal with the Don Jazzy-owned record label.

Speaking on the deal, Iyanya said it took him a couple of months to make the decision, adding that after he released the single, Gift, last year, he left Made Men Music and joined Temple Management.

According to him, he needed to work with someone who understands the music industry and can help him fulfill the dream of getting his music right; reason he went with Don Jazzy.

“I chose him because I realised the need to work with someone to bring out the real Iyanya, which is the singing Iyanya, and at the same time, commercialise the music.”

In a post on his Instagram page, frontline producer and chief executive officer of Mavin Records, Michael Collins, popularly known by stage his moniker, Don Jazzy wrote: “The SUPREME MAVIN DYNASTY is pleased to welcome Iyanya to the ever growing Mavin Family. Please join us to welcome him and let the world know that we ‘Up2Sumting’. MavinActivated.”

The deal as gathered, will bring a more positive twist to the career of the Ibibio born-singer, who has spent the past six years running his record label, Made Men Music Group in partnership with his manager and partner, Ubi Franklin.

He had in July this year, wrote on his Instagram: “I’ll be launching my new label and new album soon.” This sparked some reactions among fans and industry enthusiasts.

Iyanya until his decision to quit, was a co-owner of MMMG, an outfit he runs with his manager and friend, Ubi Franklin. The duo had set up the record label in 2011, and signed artistes like Tekno, Selebobo, Mr. Chibbz, and Tonye Garrick.

Singer Emma Nyra was once part of the record label until she acrimoniously departed in 2014, stating personal reasons. Baci was also affiliated with the label for six years, but he was never offered a contract and he left sometime this year.

Iyanya, until 2008, when he won the ‘MTN Project Fame West Africa’ was unknown, but he has become popular with his work in the Nigeria music industry. He has released three albums including ‘My Story’ (2009), ‘Iyanya Vs Desire’ (2013) and ‘Applaudise’ (2015).

Prior to his move to the Mavin, Iyanya was working on returning to his R&B roots, and was planning a collaborative R&B album with E.M.E singer, Banky W. He has released two singles, ‘Type of Woman’ and ‘Heart Beat’ from the project; no word has been given if the project will still continue or be dropped.

The singer upon penning the deal with Mavin, put out a single titled ‘Up 2 Sumtin’ featuring Don Jazzy and Dr Sid.According to industry observers, Don Baba J as funky called has spent his career signing young unproven talents and nurtured them into stars. They are somewhat skeptical but prayed for the success of relationship, stressing that the new contract with Iyanya is unfamiliar territory for the producer cum singer.

Like his new signee, Don Jazzy shares a similar story with Iyanya; he formerly co-owned and ran the defunct record label — Mo’Hits Records, in partnership with D’banj, before they both went their separate ways in 2011.

In 2014, he announced the signing of three acts — Reekado Banks, Di’Ja and Korede Bello, all who he has transitioned into stars in their rights. Other members of his Supreme Mavin Dynasty include Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, and D’Prince.

Reacting to news, Ubi Franklin said he is well happy for his partner and artiste. “We are all human beings; today Iyanya is 30 by age. As a 30-year-old man, you are able to take any decision on your own; you can change your mind, do whatever you want to do.”

“The most important thing is that from what I have seen, trust me he is happy. Nobody takes a decision that is going to be bad for him; I still know he still has his own plans for his label. But at this point, I know Iyanya is where good music comes from,” he stated.

Four drug suspects arrested in Lagos while leaving for China, Indonesia....

Cocaine Pills
Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested four suspected drug traffickers smuggling narcotics weighing a total of 8.745 kilogrammes to China, Indonesia, and Qatar.

In a statement on Friday, the agency said the suspects were arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, with the drugs comprising cannabis 5.200kg, cocaine 1.415kg, and methamphetamine 2.130kg.

Two of the suspects were going to China, one to Indonesia and another to Qatar, destinations where drug trafficking is punishable by death, the NDLEA said.

Peter Aniebue, who sells clothes at Aswani market in Lagos, allegedly inserted eleven wraps of cocaine weighing 460 grammes into his anus while Sokpe Zubbye, 37, a freight forwarder from Anambra State, allegedly ingested 955 grammes of cocaine. Both suspects were going to China.

Hyacinth Ugwuezumba, 38, who deals in musical instrument at Alaba market, Lagos, was also caught with 2.130kg of methamphetamine. Mr. Ugwuezumba allegedly ingested 36 wraps weighing 570 grammes and packed 1.560kg in his luggage on his way to Indonesia.

The other suspect, James Obinna, 30, an Aluminium fabricator in Umuahia whose destination is Doha, Qatar, was found in possession of 5.2kg of cannabis.

“All four suspects are under investigation and would be charged to court soon,” said Ahmadu Garba, NDLEA Commander at the Lagos airport.

The NDLEA quoted Mr. Zubbye, who was caught with a Ghanaian passport and whose real name is Nzube Chukwudi, as saying he was promised N1 million to smuggle the drugs.

“I work in China as a freight forwarder and I am married with two children,” Mr. Zubbye said.

“Due to the recession, I am having difficulty in settling my bills and I was lured into drug trafficking while seeking for assistance.

“Since I live in China, I felt it will be easy for me to go through security checks but unfortunately I was caught.”

Mr. Aniebue, 50, blamed his involvement on financial predicament, according to the NDLEA.

“I was afraid of swallowing the drug so I inserted eleven wraps of cocaine weighing 460 grammes into my anus,” he said.

“I sell clothes at Aswani market but poor patronage and family problems have turned me into a pauper. I regret everything.”

Mr. Ugwuezumba said he collected the drugs along Badagry expressway “according to the plan.”

“I ingested 570 grammes while 1.560kg was packed in a luggage. They promised me $3,000 and I agreed to smuggle the drug to Indonesia because I have no money.

“I am very sad because I married only few months ago.”

Mr. Obinna told investigators he made a mistake getting involved in drug trafficking.

“My friend gave me a bag to deliver at Doha but in the process of search, NDLEA discovered cannabis inside it,” he said.

“I made a mistake and I find it difficult to forgive myself because my wife is pregnant.”

Muhammad Abdallah, the NDLEA Chairman, described the action of the suspects as unfortunate and shameful, adding that drug trafficking is a criminal offence that had sent many to early graves.

“Drug couriers must see beyond the transient monetary gains of narcotic trafficking and appreciate the fact that they are actually endorsing their death warrant,” Mr. Abdallah, a retired colonel, said.

“It is sad that the execution of those caught with drugs in these countries has not deterred them.

“Many have died prematurely while others are daily counting down to their execution. This development has left their family members and friends in pains.”

HURRICANE MATHEW HITS HAITI IN THE PHASE OF PROGRESS!

                    Tableau of devastation

  1. JÉRÉMIE, Haiti — Things had been looking up in Jérémie, a coastal city marooned on the tip of Haiti's southern peninsula. It had recently gotten its first decent road link to the rest of the country, a new highway through the rugged mountains that brought development. Cellphone service had finally begun, enabling farmers and businesses to flourish. The city was racing into the 21st century, dreaming of advanced agriculture and tourism in one of Haiti’s few nature preserves.

Now, Hurricane Matthew has turned back the hands of time.
The rich forests and vegetation are now splinters and a saltwater swamp. Roads are blocked with detritus, trees turned to tinder, homes reduced to mounds of stone and rusted tin shards cleaved from roofs. Jérémie’s ambitious economic plans have been eviscerated.
“Instead of going forward, we have to restart,” said Marie Roselore Auborg, the minister for commerce and industry in the Grand Anse department, where Jérémie is the capital. “This storm leveled all of the potential we had to grow and reboot our economy.”
Hurricane Matthew’s toll in Haiti has been hard to measure: the deaths and injuries, the number of people still stranded, the cases of cholera contracted in the week since winds of 145 miles an hour blew the country back to a tragically familiar state of disaster.

US IS LAUNCHING DRONE; A REMOTELY CONTROLLED AIRCRAFT ATTACKS AGAINST BOKO HARAM FROM NIGER REPUBLIC!

US drone....
There are strong indications that the United States government may launch attacks against Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East, as a drone base being constructed in the Niger Republic would soon be completed.

According to reports, the American drone base is under construction in Agadez, a town in Niger.

The facility is expected to offer US military, greater ability to use drones against Islamist extremists in countries like Libya, Mali and Nigeria.

The project, considered to be the United State’s most important military construction effort in Africa.

The construction of the base is an indication that the US is paying more attention to terrorist groups in Nigeria and other countries on the African continent.

“As the only country in the region willing to allow a US base for MQ-9 Reapers — a newer, larger, and potentially more lethal model than the venerable Predator drone — Niger has positioned itself to be the key regional hub for US military operations, with Agadez serving as the premier outpost for launching intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions against a plethora of terror groups.

The Americans have for years operated an air base in Niamey, Niger’s capital, but in September 2014 the US African Command announced plans to build a drone facility for “Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.” The top MILCON [military construction] project for USAFRICOM is located in Agadez, Niger to construct a C-17 and MQ-9 capable airfield against terrorists.

However, there were concerns about US plan against the terrorists that might alongside affect the innocent citizens which of course could not be ruled out. Options are being weighed over this though. But there is a war of the detested pricking the nations at the moment. Though, the Nigerian Military is taking over, and the US drone might be as a complimentary effort to end the insurgency.

BLACKBERRY STOPS MAKING HANDSETS: lost its break-evenness to competition.

Blackberry
BlackBerry, the Canadian firm that helped pioneer the smartphone market, said Wednesday it will stop making hand sets, outsourcing production to an Indonesian partner.
Hand sets with the BlackBerry name will be produced under license by PT Tiphone Mobile Indonesia Tbk, allowing the Canadian firm to concentrate on software and services, a statement by the firms said.
BlackBerry, which a decade ago was among the largest smartphone makers, has seen its global market share slip to less than one percent amid domination by Apple and Android devices.
As the market shifted, BlackBerry has sought to refocus on software, including security applications, and the latest announcement takes the company out of the handset market entirely.
“We are reaching an inflection point with our strategy. Our financial foundation is strong, and our pivot to software is taking hold,” said chief executive John Chen, pointing to a doubling of software revenue in the last fiscal year.
“The company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to partners. This allows us to reduce capital requirements and enhance return on invested capital.”
The Waterloo, Ontario-based company has made several efforts in recent years to find new customer niches as its smartphone handset sales continued to stagnate in the face of competition.
It had hoped its first Android-operating smartphone launched last year would help restore the company to its former glory.
But sales were lackluster.
Earlier this year, BlackBerry announced it was killing off its Classic smartphone with a physical keyboard — once the workhorse of the smartphone market — as part of a modernization of its lineup.
But the company has continued to bleed red, posting on Wednesday a US$372 million loss in its second quarter ending August 31, and US$334 million in revenues.

N3.2bn fraud: EFCC re-araigns ex-governor Kalu with two others.

O U Kalu
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has re-arraigned a former governor of Abia, Orji Kalu and two others on a 34-count amended charge bordering on fraud.
Kalu, his company, Slok Nigeria Limited and his former Commissioner for Finance, Jones Udeogo, were re-arraigned before Justice Anwuri Chikere of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Tuesday.
The defendants’ plea that the court should await the pending appeal by Slok before the Supreme Court failed.
Chikere had refused the defendants’ objection to their arraignment and ordered that the charge be read to them.
Kalu and others were, in the amended charge, accused of diverting about N3.2 billion from the Abia government’s treasury during Kalu’s tenure as governor.
They all pleaded not guilty to the charges and Chikere allowed them on bail on the terms attached to the bail granted them on April 30, 2008.
They had, eight years earlier been arraigned before Justice Adamu Bello, who is now retired.
The court adjourned the case till Dec. 6 for commencement of trial.

MIKEL OBI'S MANSION: ASOKORO....

Check out Mikel at the left foot of the house in Chelsea attire!

The house is a concrete built edifice; cement cast from the foundation to the top without bricks laying. Such kind of a house implies bullet proof architectural design. As it is, you can be sure of it as a western world mediterrano-style-mansion on the Nigerian landscape. Feel free and assume....

With annual salary of approximately $6million(N1.14bn) outside revenue from endorsement and commercials, you would be plunged into what is left of such accruals than how to marshal it's spending.

FAZE REVEALS HOW HE MEETS BLACKFACE & 2FACE!

Faze
Things might not be so rosy between former band mates, Faze disclosed that he would forever be grateful to Blackface for believing in him.
“Blackface was the first person to believe in me and he was also the first person to believe in my talent. He gave me the required push to succeed as an artiste and made me realise that I had a talent which could be expanded. When I first started out, I used to go for talent hunt competitions and Blackface always urged me that I would win, surprisingly, I always won in those competitions. He is part of my success story because he made me believe that I could break through in the industry,” he said
The singer said Blackface did not only encourage him to be a great singer but was also the reason he joined the Plantashun Boys and later began living with them.
“Blackface was the one that urged me to join the Plantashun Boys because the combination of himself and Tuface was not strong enough. He felt that if a third party with their kind of flavour came into play, it would make the band better. He was the one that made the decision and he was right. Shortly after I joined Plantashun Boys, Blackface advised me to move in with them at FESTAC. He said that if I was going to be a part of them, I would have to stay with them so that we could all understand ourselves better and connect easily. Right now, I am very close to Tuface and Blackface and we are like family.

NOW YOU FARM ANTELOPE TO LEVERAGE THE ECONOMIC 'RESOURCEFULNESS'.

Antelope farming does not require millions of naira to start. With about N300, 000 to N500, 000, one can kick-start with one family of antelope called a pair- depending on the specie and age. This comprises one male and one female. They are reared in a pen or free-range system. I advise new entrants to buy them at the breeding stock stage of eight to nine months. If you buy at this stage and rear them for seven months, they will start making babies at 15 months and you can start making profit.

This is indeed a development! Already, we have grass cutter farming which is known to the concerned farmers. Now, it is Antelope farming. What a development!. I encourage the concerned and the interested to take advantage of this.

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH ONYEKA- King Sunny Ade.

Onyeka and Sunny Ade.
The song, Wait for me, by Onyeka Onwenu and King Sunny Ade, would remain evergreen and of course, many years ago, so many people believed that the duo would have had one or two things going on between them for them to have released such song.
However, KSA, as Sunny Ade is fondly called, during a press parley on his 70th birthday, said there was nothing between him and the Elegant Stallion, Onyeka.
According to KSA, the song was just a gimmick to drive home a message for a healthy relationship among the youth back then.

Rolland Ezuruike
Team Nigeria’s Rolland Ezuruike on Friday won the country’s first gold of the Rio 2016 Paralympics after setting a new Games record.
The 40-year-old lifted 200kg in the men’s -54kg weight class in the Power lifting event hours after Latifat Tijani won the country’s first medal at the Games – a silver in the women’s -45kg weight category of the same event.

Latifat Tijani
For Tijani, she could have clinched gold if not for the outstanding Chinese, Hu Dandan, who won gold.
It was a close call between the two as Tijani set the tone for breaking the Paralympic record with her first lift of 101kg before Dandan further broke the record with a lift of102kg.
The 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist was largely unchallenged in the event as he led throughout his three attempts. Ezuruike broke the Paralympic record with his first lift of 185kg and never looked like he was going to lose his lead.

Alg
ordanza, a Swiss company, has taken a fascinating and unexpected approach to memorializing our loved ones who have passed; They will compress and super-heat your loved one’s cremated ashes and turn them into a man-made diamond that can be worn and cherished.
It all begins with a chemical process that extracts the carbon from the departed’s ashes. This carbon is then heated to convert it into graphite. That graphite is then heated to as many as 2,700 degrees Fehrenheit and subjected to forces as high as 870,000 pounds per square inch. The color of the finished diamond, which can range from white to dark blue, depends on the boron content of the ashes of the deceased. The prices begin at 4,259 Swiss Francs ($4,474 USD) for a small diamond with no additional service.
